Video Documentaries - Regions

Texas is made up of many diverse regions, varying from the pitcher plant bogs of the Big Thicket to the Chihuahuan Desert of the Trans Pecos, from the rugged canyons of the Palo Duro to the gentle sand dunes of South Padre Island.  Here is footage that ranges from uncut, raw videos of urban and rural, bucolic and industrial landscapes from all over Texas, to edited videos compiled from narrators hailing from a certain part of Texas.  The images were collected to illustrate the experiences and ideas discussed by Texas Legacy narrators.  Some images include sheer scenery, others include wildlife and human activity.  We hope though that all of the segments help illustrate the richness and variety of the state's many regions.

The video is presented here in the Real Media format.  Please know that the current version of the free PC Real Media player (version 11) allows a user to not just stream video, but also save it for use later.  To do that, after you double-click on a Real file that you'd like to see, just look under the command, "File", you'll see the menu "Record", and then "Record this Clip", which should store the file on your computer.  We hope that this new feature gives you more flexibility in how you use the Texas Legacy materials.
