Ms. Burleson lives near Temple, and has served on the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission, and chaired the board of the Nature Conservancy of Texas. With her husband Bob Burleson, she has also helped explore the wild canyons of the Big Bend, and actively worked on the protection and restoration of native tallgrass tracts in Texas' blackland prairie.
