Ms Rieff has an undergraduate degree in environmental science and a master's in public policy.  She has put that education to work in leadership positions in government and non-profit groups.  She has served as a Legislative Assistant to Arkansas Senator Dale Bumpers, as the first Director of Natural Resource Protection at Texas Parks and Wildlife, as Assistant Commissioner under Texas Agricultural Commissioner Jim Hightower, as Director of Environmental Policy for Texas Governor Ann Richards, as Policy Director for Land Stewardship at the National Wildlife Federation, and, most recently, as Executive Director of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.
