Ms. Ginzbarg worked for a number of years as a grade school science
teacher, but is perhaps best known for her work organizing the
political support and financial backing to create the
Armand Bayou
Nature Center, an 1800-acre preserve and education facility east of
Houston which comprises coastal prairie, forest, stream, and estuarial
habitats, as well as a historical recreation of an early working farm.
In subsequent years, she has drawn together the people, land and
resources to create the
Nature Discovery Center in an urban
residential part of southwest Houston. The Nature Discovery Center
offers innovative, hands-on training to teach children about the
natural world around them.
