Ted Eubanks
Region: Hill Country
Topics: Birds, Wildlife, Ecotourism, Non-Profit, Audubon
Mr. Eubanks is founder and president of
Fermata, Inc., a
cause-oriented business involved in researching and developing nature
and historical tourism throughout the U.S. and abroad. His interest in
eco- or experiential travel grew out of his interest in birding (he
has served on the boards of the
Houston,
Texas and
National Audubon
Societies), efforts to secure bird sanctuaries (including High Island,
Smith Woods, Bolivar Flats, and other neotropical and shore bird
preserves), advocacy work to protect habitat (such as fights against
the West Side Houston airport and Wallisville reservoir), and study of
the broad economic impact of birding and other non-consumptive natural
resource uses in Texas.
