During the late 1990s, Louis Dubose was co-editor, with Michael King, of the Texas Observer, a periodical which covers literature and politics in the state. Since the 1950s, the Observer has run a variety of pieces, often including in-depth investigative work, on environmental topics. These topics range from water supplies to air toxics, and include coverage of stories in cities and rural areas across the state.
