Mr. Anderson operates the Frying Pan Ranch in Hemphill County,
lying in the Canadian Breaks sand-sage landscape of the Panhandle,
north of Canadian, Texas. He has been recognized as a Lone Star Land
Steward by Texas Parks and Wildlife for his integrated management of
the property's cattle operation and wildlife resources, particularly
the protection and promotion of the lesser prairie chicken. He has
also been a leader in turning the local Chamber of Commerce toward
developing nature tourism opportunities on the area's historic
ranches, including viewing of pronghorn antelope, wild turkey, raptors
and other wildlife, organized through the non-profit, Texas Prairie
Rivers.
